Meet some of the people who are responsible for leading genesis.
We believe in the “priesthood of all believers” which is an ancient way of saying that we’re all called to care for and reflect God to each other. Every one of us has the potential of being a conduit of God’s love and grace to others. We enthusiastically affirm the full equality of women and men in every area of leadership and ministry.
Chances are you’ll find Wil in a coffee shop in North Park writing a sermon. He has a passion for opening scripture up to be heard in new and creative ways. Wil and his wife, Amy, love taking their boys Corbyn and Hudson exploring.
Charlie is both a pastor and an artist. If it has to do with the intersection of creative arts and the liturgical life of the church it’s Charlie’s jam. When he’s not catching up on the latest episode of the Walking Dead, Charlie enjoys going to the beach with his wife, Kara, and daughters Zoe and Iris.
Diane is a San Diego native, who loves art, a good cup of coffee, being outdoors, and being with people she loves! Diane has worked with a variety of youth programs and ministries in the San Diego area, focusing with ages 2-15. She desires for kids to feel included, valued, and to know the love of Christ.
While Julius grew up always moving from place to place, he is grateful to call San Diego his home. His passion for music is complemented by his fascination with the art of storytelling. For Julius, music has the ability to stir us to an awareness of God’s beauty and creativity, but also serves as a means of telling the story of God and God’s people. By engaging in simple acts of quality time such as making meals together or shooting hoops, Julius seeks to make people feel at home.
Although San Diego is not her first home, Sam has grown to love the culture and people of North Park. If she’s not occupied with some crafty project she can likely be found floating in the ocean or breaking bread with a friend. As the Worship Arts Assistant at Genesis she is responsible for creating a space that welcomes all.
Melissa is a San Diego native and wife to her junior high sweetheart. She’s always on the go with her family of four. In her free time, you’ll find her taking a trip to the zoo or Mission Bay, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or at home playing a competitive game of Uno. Alongside her husband Polo, she is dedicated to building up her family with a heart for others.
